My Experience:
Hello, I am Miguel Subervi, a junior at RHS. Having over 40 tardies, the topic of student lack of sleep is very important to me. Almost every single time I have been late to school, it has never been more than 5 or ten minutes late. I have problems waking up on time and getting enough sleep. So I often find myself rushing out the door to make sure I’m not late for school. On top of that, I am someone who doesn’t take any AP classes and only takes one honors class. I cannot imagine what the people who take two, three, or even four AP classes have to deal with on a nightly basis.
The problem is that Ridge doesn’t start late enough so people don’t have the time to wake up naturally with the sun like we are supposed to. And in a highly competitive, good school such as Ridge High School, the time we get to sleep is not enough to prepare us for the next day's hard work. If we were only given an extra 15-20 minutes before the start of the school day, I guarantee that the number of late students will drastically decrease
